In the 16. century more of Jappe genus were councillors
and superintendents for the poor house. So they were entitled to have a coat of arms hanging.
The archive in Lybeck
has several drawings of these coats of arms.
The coats of arms to the right is a modernised version
of the original Jappe coats of arms, which i. a. Ivar Jappe used on his
company papers.
In 1930s oberingenieur Heinrich Jappe did a lot of work researching Jappe genus, and he has
released a family history book with his results. Apparently, he led the genus back to 1300 century
Friesland according to a memoire Fanny Fang has released about Jens
Nicolai Jappe.
He sold several copies of his family history book to the
Danish family, but so far I have only seen a small book about Jappe genus in
Lybeck and Northern Germany, so it is somewhat unclear whether there are other
books from his hand.
Coats of arms to
the left was used by Heinrich Jappe when he wrote to the Danish relatives.
It should be the Jappe family coats of arms in 1603
The drawings of the two coats of arms, shown here, is found
on the archive in
Lybeck.
